WELCOME TO THIS WEBSITE OF

JAPAN ALUMNI OF VIETNAM (JAV)

The JAV was established on May 19, 2001 with the official approval of the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Association. The main aim of the JAV is to promote the understanding, cooperation and collaborations among the Vietnam's former students/researchers from Japan's Universities/Institutions, and between the JAV members with the Japanese Professors, Staffs and Organizations in Japan, Vietnam and ASEAN Countries.

There are many kinds of JAV activities with supports from the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, the Vietnam-Japan Human Resources Cooperation Center (VJCC) and other Organizations. Especially, the JAV has been visited by the ASCOJA members since 2001 to share the experiences in an alumni association's establishment, management, and development, etc. The JAV was recommended by the Vietnam's Committee for Foreign Affairs (July 13, 2005) and the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam (Aug. 29, 2005) to the Chairman of ASCOJA to consider to accept the JAV as an ASCOJA member. After a long process of careful considerations and discussions, as well as many strong supports from all members of ASCOJA, especially thanks to kind supports from the Chairmen and the Secretary Generals of the ASCOJA, the JAV has been accepted as a member of ASEAN Council of Japan Alumni (ASCOJA) at the ASCOJA Governors Meeting held in Tokyo on June 26, 2006. The Chairman of ASCOJA issued the ASCOJA member certificate for the JAV on Oct. 3, 2006.

The JAV has organized 3 conferences: the 1st one was on May 19, 2001 for 2001-2004; the 2nd one was on Nov.3, 2004 for 2004-2007; and the 3rd one was on Nov. 4, 2007 for 2007-2010. The JAV works closely with the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, with the ASJA (Asia Japan Alumni) International, with the VJCC (Vietnam-Japan Cooperation Center for human resources), with the JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization), etc. for Japan Alumni's activities in Vietnam and promoting the study in Japan for young Vietnamese by co-organizing many Japan Educational Fairs and playing a bridge actor between Vietnamese former students, fresh students and Japan's Institutions/Organizations, etc.

We are pleased to accept you as a JAV full member if you have studied in Japan for 1 year at least, otherwise you can be an associate member for all JAV activities, excepting the Japan Government's program for accepting the former students back to Japan...

Thank you!

JAV Executive Committee.
