for the ASJA scholarship for 2009. A more

be announced soon, but all applications
should be submitted
again as done for the
2007/2008 applications. The guidance for
the ASJA scholarship
2009 is the same as for the 2008’s one.

For Master’s and Doctor’s Programs in Japan
The Japan Alumni of Vietnam (JAV) and the Embassy of Japan to Hanoi have
been informed from the ASJA (Asia Japan Alumni International) to
select 3 candidates to apply for the AJSA scholarship-2008 (similar with the
Monbukagakusho scholarship) for the graduate programmes for 3 years (Master) or
4 years (PhD course) with the first year of the Japanese language study in
Tokyo, since Apr. 1, 2008.

the attached documents for a more detail. This year JAV selects only category
A1.

Besides
the ASJA documents, the applicant should submit the following documents:
1- A Copy of the Diploma and Study Script for
Bachelor’s/Engineer’s Degree;
2- A
Copy of the Diploma and Study Script for Master’s Degree (for PhD program’s
applicant);
3- A
Recommendation Letter from a JAV member to
explain the applicant’s ability, behavor, responsibility to the community, and
other features of the applicant;
4- A
Pledge of the applicant to the JAV and the Recommender to
ensure to focus on study, research in Japan, strictly follow the laws of Japan
and Vietnam, to do his/her bests for Vietnam-Japan friendship as an excellent
representative of Vietnam for this ASJA scholarship, and to make his/her
contribution to the JAV’s activities, etc.;
5- A
Recommendation Letter from his/her chief and
ensure to allow him/her to go to Japan for the study if scholarship is given.
Also the letter is to ensure that the applicant does not apply or is waiting
for other scholarship at the moment of this submission;
6- Certificates on ability of English and/or Japanese (if any);
7- Scientific
activities’ provements (awards, research papers,
etc.) (if any);
8- Application
screening fee.
Note:
- The JAV will select 3 applicants for Category A1 candidates only. A
priority can be given to the applicants working at a university or research
institute. The applicants must be Vietnamese citizen and must live in Vietnam;
- Additional documents in Vietnamese should be translated into English (for
papers in Vietnamese it is enough to submit its abstract in English);
- Only the ASJA documents and additional ones are requred to submit by Aug.
31, 2007. The other documents by JASSO (for Language Center, etc.) can be
submitted after announcing on Sep. 28, 2007 (by 3 selected candidates).
However, your submission of ASJA and JASSO documents at the same time is also
welcome, if available;
- The applicant should follow the updated news on the JAV website http://www.jav.vn
