Dear Sir/Madam:

 

We were informed that Mr. Pham Anh Tu has been selected

for an ASJA scholar for 2007 from the JAV.

 

Congratulations to Mr. Pham Anh Tu.

 

We were also asked to organize a selection of 3 candidates

for the ASJA scholarship for 2008. A more detailed plan will

be announced soon, but all applications should be submitted

again as done for the 2007 applications. The guidance for

the ASJA scholarship 2008 is the same as for the 2007’s one.

 

Please kindly recommend good candidates for the ASJA scholarship 2008.

Thank you very much for your application for the ASJA scholarship. We have received 20 applications of very excellent scholars from Hanoi, HoChiMinh city, Hue, DaNang, etc.

The Selection Committees carefully considered each application on May 7, 2007. After screening meeting, 6 participants were selected for the interviews on May 9, 2007 as follows:

The application forms of these 3 candidates have been sent

to the ASJA office in Tokyo in May 10, 2007. The winner(s)

of the ASJA scholaship 2007 will be decided within May 2007.

THE ASJA SCHOLARSHIP 2007

 

Dear Sir / Madam:

 

The Japan Alumni of Vietnam (JAV) and the Embassy of Japan to Hanoi have been informed from the ASJA (Asia Japan Alumni International) to select 3 candidates to apply for the AJSA scholarship-2007 (similar with the Monbukagakusho scholarship) for the graduate programmes for 3 years (Master) or 4 years (PhD course) with the first year of the Japanese language study in Tokyo, since Oct. 1, 2007.

Please see the attached documents for a more detail. This year JAV selects only category A1.

Additional conditions: [(h) Other documents as required by the Selection Committee]

Besides the ASJA documents, the applicant should submit the following documents:

1-     A Copy of the Diploma and Study Script for Bachelor’s/Engineer’s Degree;

2-     A Copy of the Diploma and Study Script for Master’s Degree (for PhD program’s applicant);

3-    A Recommendation Letter from a JAV member to explain the applicant’s ability, behavor, responsibility to the community, and other features of the applicant;

4-     A Pledge of the applicant to the JAV and the Recommender to ensure to focus on study, research in Japan, strictly follow the laws of Japan and Vietnam, to do his/her bests for Vietnam-Japan friendship as an excellent representative of Vietnam for this ASJA scholarship, and to make his/her contribution to the JAV’s activities, etc.;

5-     A Recommendation Letter from his/her chief and ensure to allow him/her to go to Japan for the study if scholarship is given. Also the letter is to ensure that the applicant does not apply or is waiting for other scholarship at the moment of this submission;

6-     Certificates on ability of English and/or Japanese (if any);

7-     Scientific activities’ provements (awards, research papers, etc.) (if any).

 

Note:

-         This 2007 year, the JAV selects 3 applicants for Category A1 candidates only. A priority can be given to the applicants working at a university or research institute. The applicants must be Vietnamese citizen and must live in Vietnam;

-         Additonal documents in Vietnamese should be translated into English (for papers in Vietnamese it is enough to submit its abstract in English);

-         Only ASJA documents and additional ones are requred to submit by May 5, 2007. The other documents by JASSO (for Language Center, etc.) can be submitted after announcing on May 10, 2007 (by 3 selected candidates). However, your submission of ASJA and JASSO documents at the same time is also welcome, if available;

-         The applicant should follow the updated news on the JAV website http://www.coltech.vnu.vn/JAV/
